Blokey Stuff at St Andrew’s

"I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creation of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him". – Napoleon

It’s sometimes easy to forget that some of Jesus’ first followers were fishermen, soldiers and taxmen, men working in real jobs used to the rough and tumble of real life who found something real in Jesus that was honourable, noble, delight-full and worth giving all they had to follow and belong to. At St Andrew’s church we believe that there are men that still do!

It is great to belong to a church family where there are lots of blokes and together we are working out what it means to be a son, a dad, a boss, a student, an apprentice, a farmer, a leader, an employee, a whatever…. a man and a follower of Jesus.

There are often things going on in the life of the church you can get involved in, Tug of war competitions, curry nights, fortnightly five-a-side, cinema trips, occasional moorland hikes, Christian discussion groups in the pub, day conferences.
