Girls' Night Out! We had a fabulous meal at the China Orchid restaurant in town. Afterwards the owner, Ken gave us all a piece of Mooncake, filled with a sweet paste and duck eggs, which is traditionally mean to be eaten in the garden under the moon! Ken showed us his delightful garden with pretty lanterns, fishpond and lots of lovely potted shrubs and flowers. Afterwards some of us moved on to the King's Head to meet our friend Sandra and colleagues and joined in a great 80's night disco. A good night out! |

Retreat Day
Our retreat day was very successful with 28 women visiting Mill House Retreat Centre for a day together. We had space to listen to and be with God, great times of worship and the opportunity for prayer. It was a fabulous day and we ate lots of cake!

Girls' Night Out! Frock Exchange
The latest Girls’ Night Out was a fun frock exchange with lots of swapping of clothes, scarves, shoes and jewellery. A talk by Natalie Andrews, Devon’s answer to Gok Wan, encouraged women to enjoy fashion and relax about their body shape. The exchange was held in the glamorous Exeter home of Genna Wilkinson, founder of a grassroots Ugandan charity, the Open Arms Projects, which helps women support their families. Jewellery and crafts made by Ugandan women were also on sale. |

The Ladies’ Group
The Ladies Group aims to provide a place for women to share fellowship and come closer to God, and each other, through creative prayer and Bible study. We also enjoy a little fun! We meet on alternate Thursdays at 2.30pm in members’ homes. We would like to welcome anyone wishing to join us, or just to pop in and see what we get up to. For more details please contact either Rowena Wheeler or Norma Carne, via the church office. |
