The annual ‘Ride and Stride for churches’ day on 14 September helps to raise funds that go to the Devon Historic Churches Trust, so that they can continue giving grants to look after and repair some of the county’s most important buildings – like St Andrew’s. The aim is to get people to do a sponsored walk, or cycle between as many churches as possible in a local area – or further afield, if you feel adventurous!

St Andrew’s church has had grants from the Devon Historic Churches Trust in the past, and as we need to carry out more repairs soon, we will be applying to them for more funds in future. So it would be great if we could support them now. Half of all the money we raise will immediately come back to us, so it’s a win-win.

Could you, your friends and family join in? There will a list of all churches taking part in the Devon Historic Churches Trust website. Or, perhaps you might want to do a trail ride or walk, such as the Exe River trails, or part of the Coast Path?

More details can be found on the Ride+Stride website – http://www.rideandstrideuk.org/
